Beam UDL is an engineering reference utility used for designing simply supported steel beams. This utility is intended for students and design professionals. Based on engineering calculations, Beam UDL calculates the factored bending moment at midspan. Beam UDL also calculates the moment of inertia required to support the loads, input by the user, in conjunction with the deflection ratio. Once the factored bending moment and moment of inertia are known the beam can then be selected from standard engineering tables (not provided).
